Upgrading Drupal Core

Hi,

I am rather confused. I am a relative newbie to Drupal and Dev Desktop.

I have begun building a local site on Dev Desktop, and a week later got a Drupal Security update notice.

So I click the link on the update and get a page that says "Manual Updates Required" - then directly underneath it says "Updates to Drupal Core are not supported at this time."

Does that mean:

1 - NO - I absolutely cannot update the drupal core in my Dev Desktop?

2 - Or I can - but I have to do it manually?

3 - If I CAN - where are instructions to do so?

I'm actually having an easier time learning Drupal than I am trying to find an answer to this question.

Any help is appreciated.
